New FundSERV Representation at CIFSC

The Canadian Investment Funds Standards Committee (CIFSC) today announced that FundSERV Inc. is now represented on the committee by Harry Gundy, Senior Manager, Customer Relations and Business Analysis.

CIFSC’s self-imposed mandate is to create and maintain a single objective, standardized, transparent and consistent set of investment fund categories for the benefit of investors and other participants in the Canadian investment fund industry.

“FundSERV’s focus on B2B connectivity, security and efficiency within the Canadian investment fund industry complements the CIFSC’s mandate to standardize investment fund categories. There is a direct relation to the Electronic Standards Group’s goal of facilitating interoperability of our customers’ systems.”

“FundSERV has been a long-standing, valuable member of CIFSC,” said Ralf Hensel, chair of CIFSC, “and we look forward to working with Harry Gundy. We want to ensure the Committee receives input from a broad spectrum of participants in the investment funds industry, so that issues concerning classification of investment funds are appropriately considered.”

CIFSC is a volunteer organization, made up of competing, yet collaborative organizations, committed to the goal of a single, objective and standardized investment fund classification system for use across Canada. Its current membership includes representatives from Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association, Cannex Financial Exchanges, FP Datagroup, Fundata Canada, FundSERV, The Globe and Mail, IFIC, Lipper and individual consultants.
