Toronto, August 4, 2026 — The Canadian Investment Funds Standards Committee (CIFSC) has completed its consultation on proposed revisions to the Target Date Portfolio categories.
The proposal included three components:
1. Retiring the 2025 Target Date Portfolio category;
2. Introducing four new Target Date Portfolio categories for target maturity dates of 2050, 2055, 2060 and 2060+; and
3. Retiring the 2045+ Target Date Portfolio category.
After reviewing stakeholder feedback, the Committee will proceed with retiring the 2025 category, but will not proceed at this time with retiring the 2045+ category or introducing the four new maturity categories.
